Suburbs
Suburbs are just communities and residential areas that are found on the outskirts of a city or large town. People who tend to live in the suburbs are single families where the husbands and wives commute back and forth from work in the city by automobile or carpools. In most suburbs you will find homes that have small to medium sized yards since many families with children live in suburbs. Many people think that the homes in most suburban communities tend to look identical with their garages or carports.
There are actually different things that go into a suburb. First there are housing subdivisions which are also called pods or clusters and are devoted completely to residents. Most housing subdivisions consist of single family homes so they try to cater to families as much as possible. You will usually find some type of strip mall near most suburbs which just have a large amount of stores built next to each other. You will also find what are called civic institutions near suburbs which include things like churches, public schools, and town halls among many other things. Suburbs just try to bring everything you could need as close as possible to you without you having to go into the city.
You will find that there is still crime that you have to worry about when you choose to live in the suburbs. The difference between crimes in urban areas as compared to the suburbs is that there is usually less crime and the crimes that are committed are not as horrendous as in urban areas. You will also find that the public schools are considered better and safer in the suburbs than they are in urban areas. You will also find though that you will be split between your local town government and the local homeowners association when it comes to laws and rules that you must abide by.
